WTF is a bot??

i see on the front page of forums and users there is a bot. what is a bot?

an application that does repetitive tasks throughout the internet much fast than a human could.

Like a spider ...... a web crawler that looks for tags.

When you look something up on google and the list pops up, it is in order of the identifying meta tags. New sites and deleted sites change the tags in play regular - so spiders crawl around updating - it ususally takes about 2 weeks for new sites to appear or to move up or down in a listing.

it would probably take a human 20 lifetimes to do the same.

I haven't noticed this bot. It used to be that they did what was called a "web crawl" (spiders) from site to site.

However, everything can change in an instant on the net
