Scrambled eggs slightly browned with string like hash browns and bacon. YUMMY! Well it was almost lunch since I just finished up. It's great to have a wife who cooks.

when you've finished frying all the components take a slice of bread and gently fry it for a few minutes both sides until golden brown...it soaks up all the oil and is good for the heart!! Serve with HP brown sauce Cool

"The Golden Corral" in Tallahassee, Florida - everything deep fried in batter, even the broccoli and the peas, I swear to god! Including some stuff that looked like little fillets of fish, flaked like fish, even had silver skin on it like fish, but tasted exactly like chicken. Since that experience, my sister and I have refered to every unidentifiable or odd food as 'chickenfish'.

Don't remember any gravy though. Unless it was battered and deep fried Wink

They are actually good. I don't like a lot of fried foods and I wouldn't have these with breakfast, but I have eaten them before.

About those southern breakfasts, aren't there grits involved as well? I can't stand anything heavy or fried for breakfast. A protein shake every morning is about all I go for.

Yes, grits too. I actually do like grits, even though I am not a TRUE southern girl, but the sausage gravy is rare for me. They like to put it on bisquits, which I can do sometimes, but the worst is this chicken fried steak (barf) with sausage gravy poured over it! The heart attack platter as I call it, and my husband likes it and it's no wonder he has cholesterol issues now. It's basically I guess a chopped steak patty, battered and deep fried, then has sausage gravy poured over it. This is a BREAKFAST item! Yuk!! I do eggs, grits and toast. No gravies or fried stuff!

Nope, he eats what he wants and I try to ignore it Razz His chicken fried steak gravy is the white sausage gravy they use on bisquits. So add all that stuff you said PLUS sausage! YUM Shocked Laughing I tasted that steak thing once, and could not understand how he can eat that in the morning! I am happy with my eggs and grits Laughing
