Any gun enthusiasts here?

Last summer, I finally started my gun collection when I purchased a Glock 19 from my army buddy.

I wanna branch out a bit this summer - to a rifle or more likely, a shotgun

I know this is a reach, but is anybody into guns or knowledgeable on the subject here? Although I'd love an M4 right now, realistically, the rifle route is a bit pricey for me at the moment unless I get a great deal at a gun show. So, I'm probably going to look for a solid shotgun. Anybody got any recommendations?

I'm thinking the Mossberg 500 Pump Action Shotgun would be a great starter for me, but overall I just don't know too much about what I'm doing other than my research so far. I'd like to go to a show or store with a good bank of knowledge so I can be intelligent with my questions, so have at it if you know what you're doin.

I dont know too much about shotguns but that Glock 19 you purchased is a fantastic firearm. Our department recently switched to the Glock 40 which feels the same in your hand and will fit into the same carrier but packs a little more punch. It might be something you would enjoy having in your collection.

I've gone to the shooting range a few times. I respect weapons enough to know I don't have the time to practice and have one in my home currently. It really takes educating everyone living under the same roof to be able to operate the weapon properly. I actually own two hand guns but do not keep them on my property.

Ironically there was a home invasion a few miles from here this week. The home owner blew the bastard away and it looks to have been completely justified

I think a solid shotgun is much better suited to home invasion defense. I'm gonna be going through a lot more training this summer and getting my concealed carry license. I want to get into hunting. I probably would be leery if I had little kids around too...
