Re: Kiss announce North American Tour
I still think YOU and DAN should go for their June 12th show in Stockholm
Re: Kiss announce North American Tour
I may try to catch the show in Charlotte this year. I've had tickets to see them twice and gave them away both times. I wish I would have gone, but oh well. I honestly believe this will be the last time we get to see Paul, and maybe the last time for Gene too. I really think after this year, they'll replace themselves. Mark my words!
Re: Kiss announce North American Tour
So far I will be going to the "Hershey, DC, and Philly area shows.

Paul's voice is shot to shit and he's doing a bunch of 3-in-a-row dates? Now THAT's a true WTF moment.

You know them. All about the cash.
Strangely enough though, he's actually better now than at the beginning of Alive 35 tour. Also, when you're there in person and it's pumping through the amps you notice any issues far less than on youtube clips.
Could you imagine Journey putting out instant live recordings on the Generations tour? KISS are releasing every night's show live. That takes some balls.
Also, despite the 3 day shots, notice how many breaks they are taking. Most of these shows are weekends. And Paul doesn't sing every song anyway. Not saying they aren't pushing him, but it's not exactly how it might appear schedule wise.

I was listening to a recording of a show last month - awful. Crazy Nights....hideous. Paul didn't even try and attempt the chorus.

What are you trying to say ? That people here only do 3 in a row dates ?!

Yeah, Eric Singer is doing the heavy lifting during the chorus. That track was only played for the Euros and won't see the light of day in the states. I had a discussion with Bruce Kulick concerning that at the Kiss Expo 2 weeks ago where he said as much.
One thing I wish Paul would do is just STFU in between songs. The pointless screaming during his stage raps is absolutely what's caused his voice to start to deteriorate.

Re: Kiss announce North American Tour
Here is what the American Idol karaoke generation don't always get. In rock you don't have to hit every note. No one gives a shit. (see Rolling Stones) Eric Singer takes care of most of the chorus, and everyone is happy. You just got a rare song because of a team effort.
Actually Paul doesn't sound bad here at all, but dodges some notes as a 60 year old lead vocalist probably should unless your name is Dio.
