Bootlegs for download thread
This is the re-recorded version of Cheap Trick - In Color. The original 1977 release was weak sounding, despite some great songs - many that ended up on the Budokan live CD. Trick were never happy with the studio versions of the 2nd album and re-recorded it in 1997. This has never been officially released. The sound quality on this is stellar!

The "In Color" album was produced by Tom Werman, but the band always felt that Werman screwed up the album. "He made it safe for radio, but the album sounds like it was done in a cardboard box." So in the late 1990s they were in the studio hanging around with the producer Steve Albini, and had nothing to do for a few days, so they said "Yeah, that would be fun to redo that." So they started re-recording the songs. They have not finished it yet, haven't gotten all the harmonies or instruments on it yet, but someday they might finish it and piggyback release it as a bonus disc with something else.

I really didn't care for these guys until I saw them live. Fantastic performers and a true live band.

This upload was recorded 20 years after the original and smokes what was released.
Also thought we could use a download thread here.

Re: Bootlegs for download thread
Same here. I actually caught them for free at a Tampa Bay Lightning game last year. One of them is from Tampa, so when the lightning make it so far in the playoffs, they have a free concert outside as you leave the arena, in the courtyard area. Just a small stage. Needless to say, it's only been twice I think they've done this!Saint John wrote:I really didn't care for these guys until I saw them live. Fantastic performers and a true live band.
Anyway, I had no idea until the announced it at the game last season. Was glad I stayed to watch. They put on a very fun show! It helped Tampa had won that game against the Bruins in the playoffs. It was like a small outdoor party.

I've seen them between 25 and 30 times. Completely have lost count.

Re: Bootlegs for download thread
Ed, do you have any good Lou Gramm boots (from the late 80's/early nighties)?
Re: Bootlegs for download thread
Ed, while I'm begging here... do you have the Freddie Mercury tribute by Queen from 1992? If not, you suck and don't have shit for boots!
