I hate American Idol. I understand why my childhood favorite band did this, but that show is everything I hate about music in 2009.

American Idol reminds me of every loser karaoke singer in bars across the country. Fuck, karaoke used to be fun. Now you go out and every karaoke DJ has regulars who think they are stars. I miss seeing the losers who couldn't stay on key. I get that American Idol shows that too, but it is just another so-called "reality" show that is totally fixed, fake, and rigged.

I want guitars, drums, and a BAND. Not someone who thinks they can sing and is a total amateur like that hardware store employee in Boston. Zero pedigree or stage presence. Fucking embarasing. Just a fat fuck in a T-shirt standing in one place , clapping over his head and parroting. Sure that dude sounds like Delp, why the fuck not just play Brad's voice through the PA, and have people play Guitar Hero Boston once Tom Sholtz dies?

Especially in hard rock, I expect stage presence and a rock pedigree. Not rank amateurs pulled out of nowhere that sang in the shower and never paid their dues, wrote music, and slugged it out in clubs building themselves up.
