As for the bands motives, I'll let you all do the speculation. Just reporting what I saw and what went on and you all can draw your own conclusions. I have my own theories, but they are as valid or invalid as the next persons. From observation, Jeff and Friga didn't seem too chummy, Friga just comes off to me as odd and very standoffish. The rest of them seemed to get along very well though.

Impression I got too, from comments I've heard here and there. LOL, IMO Cain just wasn't used to that much testostrone in his Journey frontman, didn't know how to handle it.
Saint John, you and your JSS conspiracy theories never cease to provide me with some great chuckles. Thanks.

We end up in the bar of the Boston Marriott near the airport. Schon is absolutely acting like Dean's best friend. He even hugged him - not kidding. At one point (like an ass) just to make small talk while standing there I mention that the bootleg that started it all was something I circulated to Red13JoPA and it got to Dean that way. Schon goes "Oh yeah, right" sarcastically. Dean goes, you do realize that Ed is "AR" right? Before that point I was someone along for the ride with JSS and Dean. I certainly wasn't running saying "Hi, I'm AR" LOL. Schon had instant recognition when he heard it, and suddenly was very chatty and interested in what I had to say too. Yes folks, Schon does read that forum, or at least he did then and heavily. He was very familiar with the cast of characters, not just Dean and me at the time.
I was kind of put off by Neal's sudden warming to me, but I was a guest and was polite and went along with it all. It was fun, no denying it. The instant 180 degree turn from tolerance to wanting to talk was just not genuine the way Jeff had been with us in Atlantic City and all day in Boston. But a beer's a beer and I knew this was something I wouldn't want to miss.
The Marriott bar was closing ridiculously early. In all honesty, I can't remember who's idea it was but Dean, myself, a few girls along with Ross, Neal and Jeff piled into 2 cars and headed for a Boston bar district.
More later.

There was also a guy we flipped a
ticket to from a radio station that had a car and a cooler (which
comes into play later). Can't remember the dude's name, but
without him a lot of this and what follows would never have
happened. I stayed in touch with the guy and he almost came to
the party I had at my house. He will remain a mystical figure from that weekend, and I will acknowledge him in my Journey memoirs.

Ed wrote:Storytelling will resume on Saturday. Tonight I have VIP tix to....(don't laugh, well too hard anyway): Hall & Oates with Todd Rundgren and The Hooters in one of the final shows ever at the old Philadelphia Spectrum.
VIP's get a post show party with complimentary BEER and food for 3 hours. And we get a brick from the Spectrum after it's demolished next months, seats in the first 20 rows, a poster, did I mention that it's FREE BEER for 3 hours?
$150 per ticket. I can drink that much.
They are just keeping a couple lower level consession stands open after the show ends, so it will be arena type food I suppose. The Spectrum is sold out too because non VIP tix are only $4, 5, 6.
Why the fuck would I laugh at that? Todd Rundgren and H+O together? Two of my favorites. How was it?

It was a fun show and great to say goodbye to the Philly Spectrum.
Still haven't found any decent youtube clips. Post show party ran until almost 3am.

What kinda set was Todd playing? Did he do AWATS? I'm assuming not since it was a shared bill. Who else was with him? Kasim? Prairie? Jesse Gress?

Gotcha, sounds like a standard post-Arena Todd setlist. You never know what you're gonna get with Todd, that's half the fun of it.
