Awesome song and the sonics are way better on the real thing, but you will get the idea from the youtube. He sings his ass off. Buy this CD. (I didn't upload this, but since it's out there you might as well hear it)



Journey without an exact clone. Jeff is closer to Perry on this if anyone. Andrew was spot on in his description of this track. Easily could have been a Journey song.

One of my faves off the cd. Definitely channelling Perry on that one. Love it! Eat that Journey!

I found it somewhat disturbing that he's intentionally trying to channel Perry and "phrase" like him. Other than that the song is ok/pretty good. I really don't care for the backing vocals either. They're studio production at its best and will be impossible to even come close to replicating live. I can see why "Uncle Hefty" said that this album isn't meant for performing live. A lot of studio shit going on. I'm digging the shit out of the guitar playing on this album. Coolest sound I've heard in years.

One of the best melodic rock songs of the last 10 years, bar none. That might be an interesting top 10 list for me/others to make, top 10 MR songs of the decade as we approach 2010 here...

I found the phrasing disturbing. I've never heard Soto try and sing just like Perry, and that's what he's doing here. And it's not a "big F U" to Journey. It's a big F U to himself for being unoriginal. I think his voice sounds good...clear and strong. I'd be interested in hearing this stuff live to see if that good sound is him, the studio or a combination of the two.

You've never delved into his catalogue either. You're just hearing his soulful side. If that's your thinking, then he was singing just like Perry years ago too.....cuz I've heard that type of phrasing on early songs also. Of course every singer has their influences and Perry is definitely one of his as was Sam Cooke one of Perry's. I actually find he comes across better LIVE on some of these soulful numbers. His LIVE version of Broken Man that I saw last year, absolutely blows away the cd version.

Agreed...and I think he is better off....this CD is very good IMO....who needs Journey
