Re: Eric Martin and Jeff Scott Soto clip
Some new and pretty good quality clips from JSS and EM's Brazil shows. Wish these two could do even just a show or two State side, damn it! (shusha yo mouth St. John, don't wanna hear it )

Everytime I see Jeff wear those pants, I think of this:

Re: Eric Martin and Jeff Scott Soto clip
After hearing those clips, it's no wonder those 2 have to travel to 3rd world countries to book a show. Brothers In Arms was good, but the rest were train wrecks.

Can't you read?
See and I thought the opposite. I love Brothers In Arms, great tune. But I thought it was the weakest lead vocal of the 4 posted? Kinda sounded like Jeff was off a bit.

That's because you can't use studio magic and other tricks on stage. Well, actually, you can, but they didn't.

Cuz they play for real, no tapes or backing vocal tracks. I like that, that's what I pay to see. Raw talent.
The other 3 were strong vocals. I just think there is a lot of real high range in BIA.

And no Deen Castronovo to finish those highs ... like he did when Soto was a fill-in singer for Journey. But, to be fair, he's doing the same for Arnel on certain songs.

They play Europe, Japan, Brazil, etc. cuz the people still love their ROCK over there, plain and simple. It's not like the US where you have to be mega commercial bands like Bon Jovi or U2 or pop/rap. And I would like to see Bon Jovi/U2 play a show without all the sound magic in the raw. Don't get me wrong, I love Bon Jovi, but neither JBJ or Bono are the vocalists JSS and especially EM are. Anymore, anyways.

Beggers can't be choosers. Those countries would rather have C list acts than no acts ... and that's what these guys are.

Tons and tons of 70's, 80's and 90's rock bands tour the U.S. annually (Journey, Heart, Styx, REO, Foreigner, KISS, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison and the Scorpions, just to name a few) . Let's not try and make excuses for the fact that there's no desire to see either one of these guys in the U.S. Their catalogs (or lack thereof) are proof enough of that.

Bon Jovi and U2 could disappear forever and I wouldn't give 2 fucks. However, they've both basically toured almost non-stop for over 25 years so I'll give their singers a break on some of the enhancements. The only real tour I know of that Soto has ever done was with Journey (and maybe Malmsteen?), but I think Martin has done quite a few in his career (Mr. Big and TMG). At any rate, mentioning those 2 clowns with JBJ and Bono is like comparing Wayne Gretzky to one of the Hanson brothers from Slapshot.

Yes JBJ and Bono are much more successful, that's not what I said, I was talking strictly "vocal". Yes they are extremely popular, but I don't think either have the vocals of JSS or especially EM. Just my opinion, and as you know, I don't give 2 fucks about popularity/stats, I follow vocal talent, period. Not saying you have to, by all means keep following the American masses. Time shows neither one of us is going to budge on this, so might as well quit while we're ahead.

I don't follow any masses, travel to polish stars or cancel trips with online friends because some half-ass band's lead singer "forgot" he was on retainer. Besides, I see more local bands than probably anyone you know.

Travel to polish stars? Huh, lost me on that one? Who's Polish? And lol....you, BB and S2M need to give up the MRF2 thing already.....just couldn't do it, not made of money and can't go to everything as much as I would like to. If it was right in my backyard too, it would be different. And I could probably give you a run for your money on who see's more local bands.

You traveled down to polish the Journey star with those nuts from Perryville (you are excluded from that rabid bunch). I'm just bustin' your balls, anyway.

Re: Eric Martin and Jeff Scott Soto clip
I am beginning to think that Dan only likes Barry Manilow...As for JSS and EM I think they both have fabulous voices and tons of stage presence. South America is loves it's 80's rock shows and they go there and play large venues that are usually sold out.
America would rather listen to Lady GaGa and Rascal Flatts. I don't understand why but they seem to be the "hot" tickets to get.
I am going to see Bon Jovi in August...I still love them I own the newest CD and I don't love all of it, but I do love enough songs that I did not consider it a waste of my money.
I can't say the same for Revelation. I own it and have listened to it a few times....it does nothing for me. I still put Escape or Frontiers on and I can listen to it from start to finish...it never gets old. I can listen to Arrival all the way through...but in my head it's still not Journey it's part of Journey with another singer.
I know I will go to my room now!

Hahaha, fuck I'm an idiot today. Thank gawd its FRIDAY! Oh the Journey star? No polishing involved. Except maybe by my feet while standing on it for a pic.
