Back from the funeral home

What a shitty week. A friend of mine's ex-wife died over the weekend of uterine cancer. They remained friends so we did as well. She was my age. Just got back from the viewing and it was obvious that this disease ate her up relentlessly. She went to the doctor regularly for checkups all her life and yet this developed and they couldn't stop it.

Sorry to hear this, Ed. Cancer is a terrible disease; the day they find a cure, I'm bucking for a world-wide holiday.

I'm sorry to hear this as well! My daughter's best friend's mother was just diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She is such a wonderful woman and loves my daughter like she was her own. I am praying that her treatment is successful in shrinking the tumors. She as one in both breasts, one is very large. No cancer is showing up anywhere else. Her prognosis is good, but she won't be able to have reconstructive surgery because the breast tissue will be too damaged after radiation, due to the size of the tumors. I feel so bad for her. All I can do is pray and give her support.
