RIP RockinDeano
Very sad news. I hope he will find peace and happiness wherever he is. No one can argue his passion for music, sport and women.
This board was initially started to let Dean speak his mind during one of the times he was banned from MR.
Rest in peace bro....

Re: RIP RockinDeano
Hard to really digest this right now. Dean had some vices, but he also had that air of being sort of indestructible. In the end, we're all destructible and Dean was no different. Sadly, I had never heard him so happy than I did about 2-3 months ago. He was back with Lula and had e-mailed me some really cool pictures he had taken of her. He wanted to get them professionally finished and give them to her as a present. It seemed like his head and heart were finally in unison. Echoing what Don said on MR, Dean really was a good guy, and you never knew that as much as when you were one-on-one with him. I can think of 2 occasions that we really sat back and talked, and he was incredibly funny, intelligent and witty. And that's what I'll remember about him.

Re: RIP RockinDeano
The first time I met Dean in person was picking him up at BWI Airport the day before a Journey show in Atlantic City. He was like a tornado and I knew in an instant that I had never met anyone like him.
Sooooooooo many funny stories came after. I'll save them though for a more appropriate time. We had our issues there for awhile, but fortunately had gotten past all that. He had recently asked if I wanted to go see Springsteen at MetLife Stadium. I'm really glad our last intereactions were good ones.
R.I.P Dean.

A tornado is the word I have used for Dean about everytime we met him! When he entered a restaurant or room, everyone knew he was there. I don't think I've ever laughed so much as I did everytime we hung out with him. And Dan, one of my favorite things was when you got to meet him in Vegas. He had you speechless for a while just watching and listening to him do his thing. We were like a table on a sitcom to the rest of the restaurant! There are some great memories of laughter and fun times with Dean, and it's what I'll remember. My heart aches for Lula, Wyatt and his other children. His humor and big heart will be missed.

Re: RIP RockinDeano
A lot of people don't realize that Dean and I were gay lovers.
I returned the favor though.
I'm not posting those on MR (although he would probably tell me I was being a pussy for not doing it)

Even though we didn't talk much anymore, I will miss him terribly. We shared a lot of great times (and a few not so great) and he'll always be in my heart.

The second one always cracked me the hell up - anyone else think he looks like Andy Kauffman???

I see it in that pic. I always thought he looked like the one doctor on scrubs.

Dean trying to blow up an air mattress with Lula passed out on top of it. Of course Robin and I weren't gonna make it any easier for him either...

Re: RIP RockinDeano
I don't think anyone has ever pissed me off as much as he did. Still very sad news. Stu said recently he was doing better and making some changes in his life so I hope he did find some peace before his passing. Even if not, I hope he finds peace now. I hadn't talked to him in a couple of months but I know he was in a very dark place the last time we talked. Rest in peace, Deano......

Andrew green lighted posting some of these on MR. Best tribute I can think of giving Dean. This all surreal still.

One year ago, today. Easy date for me to remember, as its my mother's birthday (as well as Jon Cain's).

yes, Melissa and I were just talking about it the other day. Hard to believe a year has passed. So many times I read those boards and he crosses my mind! Memories are a good thing though.Saint John wrote:One year ago, today. Easy date for me to remember, as its my mother's birthday (as well as Jon Cain's).

Please forgive me if I'm being a "blockhead" but isn't Dean's death date tomorrow?
I'm reading old posts and the online condolences, yup my eye are leaking.
