The WTF/Annex post by Michael at MR

A couple of things Michael. I generally find your posts thoughtful and honest. However, bringing up the other forums on MR was a big mistake.

As cat said, first of all, the WTF forums and The Annex are two completely seperate sites. WTF is more mainstream, and The Annex is more of a clique of friends. The content is very different on each site, and I'm not sure Behshad appreciated the connection, and even though I run The Annex - I don't blame him one bit. My site allows extreme porn, WTF doesn't. They are just completely different places. But of course the MRobots have now labeled "WTF" a Journey hate site. Yet the fact is all opinions are welcome here, not just the Juh-nee cheerleaders and apologists.

Also, on your thread on MR, it also proved my point of how far MR has fallen. Just really stupid wink, wink comments between the dweebs over there on the pages that followed. In all actuality, I am surprised Andrew or T-Bone didn't delete the thread all together.

There are people who are members of all 3 forums. Most from mine have given up on MR completely (the forums, not the site - Andrew's home page is stellar). So while they may read, their postings are limited.

I was amused by Gunbot' post: As you mentioned AR, who no longer is a member here, this post should have been left over there at WTF, as AR can't post here to make a rebuttal (well he probably could it if he really wanted to just to make a point).

And to answer, of course I could do that if I wanted to but been there, done that. I post where it's fun and I'm welcome, and that is here, my site, and Frank's.

Yeah, I should have separated the two (WTF / Annex) in my initial post, but wasn't really thinking too clearly about that at the time - I know they are two separate sites, and yours in particular, is a bit more selective in membership / access, etc. However, I think I lumped them together because of the viewpoints / overall attitude conveyed towards the band, in general, rather than separated things out. It didn't occur to me that people would take a crap over semantics like that, when it was merely the general intent of the post that I was trying to convey. It seems that people also felt that I was slamming SP and SA - I wasn't - I was / am a fan of both of their tenures in the band, when they were in Journey (along with JSS), and I made some comments about SP's behavior with the "10-year gap", and the vacuum of silence, etc. That is not really an attack on SP, as I am still a HUGE fan of his, have everything he's releaseed (remasters, DVDs, etc.) and would buy anytyhing new he would ever put out, in a New York second. However, I still recognize that his poor behavior cost this band 10 years of its existence. It seems that people took my mentioning of those issues to mean that I was slamming SP and SA, when that wasn't really the intent. One can point out issues and facts which are negative in nature, yet still be a fan, overall of the artist. With JSS, I feel that he is a very good singer, and I saw him 4X w/ Journey - I think we were both at the Pompano Beach show together, in fact. However, as the sound / music / direction of Revelation shows, they really just simply wanted a different musical direciton and sound, and JSS doesn't have that natural "SP / Arnel" tenor voice. JSS's new album is good, I'm sure, but not the Journey sound at all ... So, its not as though I'm attacking or slamming his contributions, either ..

So, long story short, it seems like people dissect things to a total "microcosm" level, rather than simply focusing on the overall "macro" intent of the post. I can see how this is tiring to have to constantly clarify onesself with statements.

Your post was offensive to many. Not just people of Annex and WTF, but 3 legendary singers.
How can you say you werent slamming any of them, when most of us who read your post agreed that you WERE slamming them.
What seperates us from animals is our ability to use a language and communicate.
You clearly used the language of english to communicate with us, which now you say what you said isnt what you meant. If thats true then
1) what was your TRUE intentions and goal with the post
2) if you werent slamming SP/SA/JSS, then what were you doing? Handing them flowers?
3)Shouldnt you think before you click that submit button?

Your intentions in my opinion was , not only to badmouth some people over here and annex (just cause they dont share the same opinions with you ), but also to stir the pot and try some board wars. Fortunately, no one fell for it, at which point you tried ot change direction of your intentions and tried the " oh I didnt mean this' , "why is everyone so defensive",,,,"why do people take things so seriously on these boards".

If you think that things on the board shouldnt be taken seriously, then you shouldve just ignored the nagative things your read about Arnel.

I think you need to start a new thread over at MR, apologizing to Andrew and all the singers you slammed, plus all the people you offended. Do it and youve shown your true intentions. Also if youre gonna do it,, do it like you mean it, and dont do the "I didnt think people would this or that",,or "I didnt know I was slamming".... you knew what you were doing,,,,,

Well Ben, I was constantly bashed at MR for months after my departure. So in my case, if I happen to comment on the site or anyone on it - it's merely returning the favor. Besides, this discussion here came AFTER both this site and mine were referenced on MR, where I don't post. (Although perhaps I should)

I'm trying to be a gentleman about this, and you still continue with the insults, which last night you were saying was a joke ... I've been more conciliatory now, than I was even yesterday, yet you've gotten continually more hostile .... Even Ed's post, this morning, to me, was rational, and conciliatory - he made his points known, clearly, and without malice ... I responded in kind to him, with a respectful post reply back to him ... Obviously, he seemed to accept that, as it was intended ...Now this is just getting out of hand ..

great minds think a like... my sentiments were that he wanted to be a POSTER STAR... if you know what I mean... get as many people to post in your thread you feel like a star... wow 6000 people lurked at what i thought and 150 people resonded. HELL I found that I wanted to be that guy 7 years ago... but lucky I grew out of it after 4 months... I think TNC called me out a few times... TNC always rocked in my book with his smartass comments.

Seriously, people are making much ado out of nothing - I was frustrated at a lot of the negativity going on, and I vented, and got it off my chest ... maybe my posting style wasn't tremendous, but oh well ... thats life ... a lot of others have much worse styles of posting and communicating ... I was over it 40 minutes later, but people just kept bringing up things and dissecting stuff beyond rediculous ...
