A YES fan vents on karaoke singers
This could apply to several other bands including a favorite of many here.
"I love YES, I have seen them live around 50 times. Changes are a part of the band, but the changes have always been talented musicians that were able to bring something new to the band.
Benoit David does sound similar to Jon Anderson, but he is from a cover band that they found on Youtube. This is not what Yes has been about. I tried to accept this and went to a couple of shows, but this is not what Yes is to me. It is embarrassing to watch these talented people work with a karaoke singer.
What a shame, and what a humiliating way to go out for such a historically talented band."

Doesn't mention Home Depot, so I guess it's not Boston. LOL

Oh Boston is the one who qualifies the most. I hope Tom Scholtz BBQ's himself.

Re: A YES fan vents on karaoke singers
There was a time when musician's bought an old van and travelled around the country playing for virtually fuck all crafting their skills.....waiting for that call to play as support. Now it seems you can throw up a 4 minute clip on Youtube without ever singing in front of anyone live and get a gig.
Is this now the new dating site for bands to pick up a new groupie? Could have worked the other way for Yes and they might have been lucky like Juhnee and found the right guy.
Seems to me though there's a glut of Melodic Rock bands out there, so you think these bands would send talent scouts out like Football teams and see what's available in the live arena first.

Re: A YES fan vents on karaoke singers
Unfortunately, I just won't sit and accept new lead singers again and again for these bands I grew up with. The only reason I gave Journey a chance with Augeri was because it had been so long since I had seen them.
JSS...I had the tickets for Houston already when Augeri went down, and I thought it might be interesting, 'cause anything I heard from Jeff's solo work was great. I wanted to see how he covered a very difficult voice. ROCKED the place.
THEN they shafted him, and gave the gig to AP. UMM...NO. I was done.
Won't get into other bands, 'cause I'm just rambling anyway. lol

Re: A YES fan vents on karaoke singers
Journey's current vocalist is a karaoke robot with an awful accent and think's
"Nee SchonAH" plays piano (Chile). Sorry.
Boston is more reprehensible with a douchebag who sent in a karaoke tape while tightening bolts at Home Depot. He has the stage presence of a fucking manniquen.
Yes has another tribute singer, and while, he like the others, has a good voice - the real lead singer wanted to come back to them and they turned him down.
You can blame American Idol, karaoke bars and women for this.
