The iPhone 5 Launch

Most experts are calling this the biggest electronics event in the world's history. This phone is expected to sell, possibly, as many as 250 million units. That number would surpass the total amount of all other iPhones sold to this point.

I'm not sure what "killer" feature I'm looking for. I'll be buying one; that's just about a given, as my current contract is up this month. Siri needs to be the biggest upgrade. The potential is certainly there, but the beta version was pretty plain. I also think screen size will matter, but the aspect ratio is going to make or break the phone. They have to keep this the same or risk fragmentation and making apps look distorted. Honestly, the thing I'd like to see the most is a $50-$100 voucher for apps. Get people into the Apple "ecosystem" and they're far more likely to buy another iOS device. But that's the Apple (AAPL) shareholder in me talking.

So, anyone else have any thoughts about IPhone 5?

That would suck ... just like it did when they did that with the latest iPad. I *do* understand moving away from the numerical sequencing of the iDevices. However, why not assign letters instead? The latest iPad could have been iPad RD (for Retina Display). That way, you move away from having iPad78 somewhere down the line, yet you're still able to advertise the latest version. What's the next iPad going to be called ... the newer iPad?

Can't get one. Once I go from 3G to 4G my verizon unlimited data plan goes away. I'm sticking with the iPhone 4S for as long as I can.

I think they're going to change that, Ed. If they don't, they're going to lose a shitload of customers to Sprint.

Yes they'll change that. It would kill them if they don't.

However the unlimited isn't true unlimited and they'll slow you down after 4Gb anyways

What is your guys' data usage really like? I can't imagine getting anywhere near 2 GB given the fact I'll be connected to Wi-Fi 95% of the time.

I usually use around 300-400 Mb.
Like you said with Wifi really helps keep the usage down.


As far as iPhone 5, I just cant justify shelling out $400 for a phone that is 95% my 4S. I will wait and check out the Nokia also, but I might just be super happy with iOS6 on my 4S till next fall when 5S comes out !

We finally did just get WiFi in my office this month (and I have worked here for 12 years).

Color seems a little better in iOS6 and I like the 50-50 ratio on the stock screens. I also like the new button when surfing that allows you to remove all borders in a touch. So far, so good.

4s and iPad 2.

6.0 installed and is working on iPad2. I had some issues at first because it was a jailbreak, but after going back to factory settings it's fine.

All the people bitching about youtube not in iOS 6 = makes no sense.

Already got the Google App. Works well.

I really need to test Maps and the vehicle navigation considering that's part of what I do for a living.

Voice navigation only works on 4S DannyBoy

The YouTube App that google releases is much better than what Apple had anyway.

I hope google comes out with Maps App too

Sweet pic, Ed. Having been in your mancave for a few days, that picture really gives me a good idea of what panoramic photo does.
