Scrap Metal/JSS this weekend
Ran into a few people from the boards this weekend at the Mohegan Sun. Good stuff.
Kip Winger, Eric Martin, and JSS sounded great. I listened to the entire soundcheck which was almost a show before the show starting around 4pm. Long night, since my wife and I never left our spot from soundcheck through the break and then for the actual show.

From the various boards there was Pam, Mindy, Maria, duke22, Deb, and a few others. The venue filled up fast with a long line to get tables. I opted to stand at the bar area in the back which was elevated and had a perfect view as long as you didn't mind standing. We were there for all of the soundcheck and straight through till the end of the show.
For those who had seen them in South Bend, this was a bit differentsince Kelly Keagy didn't make the show, and the special guests were obviously different.
Kip Winger led off with an acoustic set of hits. I like these renditions far better than the versions on the original studio albums. The acoustic arrangememts are much more mature sounding and Kip is really good on guitar and his voice sounded great. The actual Scrap Metal show was good despite me not being all that enamored with Marc Slaughter (annoying voice) or the Nelsons (no guy likes them, LOL), but they kept it fun, and it was something to enjoy while partaking from the bar.
JSS came running in pretty late and didn't do soundcheck. His set was at the end and consisted of Journey and Queen songs only. Typical high energy deal from Jeff. It was a bit of a weird flashback hearing him do the Journey songs again. While I'd prefer not to hear any Journey, it made sense in the context that Scrap Metal plays only songs that everyone knows.
After the show, my wife had pretty much had it from trying to keep up with me at the bar. My friend Joe was also in some pain after having surgery this week, so unfortunately we didn't get to meet up with everyone post show as planned. However that didn't take away from having a really good time and a great road trip.

Re: Scrap Metal/JSS this weekend
True dat, it was a great show! Great seeing everybody again. And waaaay cool to see 2 of my favorite singers on one stage again! My friend got some great video and pics of the show, which she'll hopefully get up on youtube soon. I didn't get very many good pics. Only got one of Jeff that wasn't blurry, guy moves around way too fast. He was there for beginning of soundcheck but you might not have saw him cuz he wasn't up on stage practicing, was down below. And have to say Kip kicks ass!

Re: Scrap Metal/JSS this weekend
I finally made it home at 11:30pm this evening. Stayed an extra day to rest, I was completely exhausted!!! On the bright side, I won $250 on the penny slots on Sunday evening! Paid for my gas and food on this trip at least.
Glad everyone had a good time!

Good for you Pam. I didn't play the slots much, not enough time.........which is probably a good thing, cuz when I did, I didn't win a darn thing.
Good to see you made it home safe and sound.
