Update on my mother in law Empty Update on my mother in law

My wife and her sister have decided not to allow extraordinary measures to keep their mom alive. Since the surgery on the aneurysms, she has been immobile and fluid has developed on her lungs and she has been struggling to breathe. She will most likely pass within the next few hours. To add insult to injury, today is my wife and my 8th wedding anniversary. There is no sense prolonging the inevitable a few more days just because of a calendar date though.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. My wife has been getting support from people here and the other various sites as well as facebook (which has been a blessing for getting in touch with many of her relatives instead of making numerous painful phone calls.)

There are never words that are appropriate enough to convey one's thoughts and wishes at times like these. I am very sorry to read this update and will pray that this passes with as much ease as possible for all involved. Calendars are hard at times. When my father passed, it was on his sister's birthday.

My best wishes and sincere at all you are facing right now.

I just spent the last 5 hours making my daughter feel this was a normal day. This past year she lost my mother, my grandmother/her great grandmother, and now her other grandmother. This will be difficult to explain to a 3 year old, because my mother in law baby sat Kristen almost every Friday.

I am fine. My wife will be a wreck once this is over, and I dread having to explain this to my 3 year old.

I feel sorry for your wife...it's hard to lose a mother.

Also, to have a loss during a happy time like a holiday or anniversary makes it worse.

Hey thanks everyone. Lori did all the obligatory phone calls this evening. My 3 year old came down to me a few minutes ago and said "Why is mommy sad?"

We'll deal with that one sometime tomorrow.

I can't wait to get back to some sense of normalcy!!!!!!!!

Hopefully soon. Thanks again for your well wishes and sympathy. We will get through it. It's more me worried about my wife and daughter. I am completely fine. After losing my mother and grandmother the last 13 months, I am kind of numb to this.

Looking forward to talking music, and posting with a little of my old edge in a few days. Wink
